Having trouble choosing between wood sheds? Learn about our most popular design.

We know choosing wood sheds can get a little overwhelming. At Heritage Portable Buildings, we offer 11 different designs that you can alter to suit your needs. But that also means you have many decisions to make. So, it might help to know which shed design works for the majority of our customers—and that’s the La Conner.

We describe the La Conner as a “side-lofted shed,” meaning its double doors are built into the side and it contains two lofts for extra storage. The standard design also features two windows in the front, giving it the look and feel of a small cabin.

Our owner, Paul Gingerich, attributes the La Conner’s popularity to its charm and versatility.

“I think it is partially the ‘look’ of the model that people love so much, as well as the layout of doors, windows, and lofts,” he says. “It lends itself well to many different uses.”

In fact, Paul says customers have used the La Conner for storage sheds, garden sheds, tool sheds, she-sheds, studios, and more. This building can become anything an owner imagines.

That’s especially true considering the variety of options we offer for all Heritage wood sheds. As a customer, you can choose one of 18 exterior colors, pick one of four double door designs, add a cupola, and subtract a loft. Generally, you can make the building your own.

Wood Sheds | The La Conner | Heritage Portable Buildings | Washington

We describe the La Conner as a “side-lofted shed,” meaning its double doors are built into the side and it contains two lofts for extra storage. The standard design also features two windows in the front, giving it the look and feel of a small cabin.

Paul says the most popular La Conner alterations include extra windows, upgraded bungalow doors, skylights, ramps, and spray foam insulation. People also love to dress up this design with extended overhangs.

As for size, many customers purchase 10×16 or 10×20 wood sheds because most counties don’t require permits for buildings that measure 200 square feet or less.

As craftsmen, we’re proud of the La Conner design and the joy it has brought to families and businesses in our corner of Washington. It has irresistible charm, and it blends into almost any landscape. If you want to know more about this model and its customizable options, give us a call.
