Heidi Brown is one of our newest dealers. She started selling portable buildings in Bellingham, WA, in October 2022. But Heidi has also sold our units in the past. So, we’re excited to see what she brings to the Heritage family and how she helps propel the company forward. Read our recent interview with Heidi and learn why she chose to begin a career with us.
Thanks for the interview, Heidi! Tell us about yourself. Where are you from?
I have been local to Whatcom County since I was a child. I grew up in Ferndale, but I’ve been living in Birch Bay for the last seven years.
Let’s talk a bit about life outside the job. Are you married? Do you have children or hobbies?
I have been with my partner for 13 years. Together, we have a blended family with three adult children and two grandchildren. We like to enjoy the outdoors in all seasons. We love to fish and crab as well as explore in our ATV. Our favorite time to explore is during the winter when there’s snow to play in.
Why did you decide to become a Heritage Portable Building dealer?
The opportunity to become a dealer was actually a surprise to me. I had moved on from the company I was with when I was selling buildings for Heritage before. About three years had gone by, and Jerry unexpectedly reached out to me about this position. After a little shock and some time to think, I jumped all over it!
What’s your favorite part about selling portable buildings in Bellingham, WA?
My favorite part of operating my own lot is pretty much all of it! I guess I don’t really have a favorite part. I love having my own office—a place I can really make feel like a second home. I love being able to sell a quality product that I can stand behind. And most of all, I love interacting with customers! [I enjoy] getting to hear what they are needing the building for and building a relationship with them. Then, [I love] going to do a site review and getting to see where the building is going and watch it all come together.
What’s your favorite portable building model and why?
My favorite model is the Shaw Island. I love the look of all the windows. I think it has a classy, high-end look.
What’s your best advice for anyone shopping for a building?
My best advice would be to do your research. Reach out! Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Make sure, at the end of the day, you are getting exactly what you want. This isn’t just a purchase. It’s an investment.
