FAQs

What sizes do you build?

We build in sizes from 8×8 to 14×48 in increments of 2′. Oftentimes we get customers who want something smaller or bigger and in most cases we can accommodate this. For something larger, like 16 feet wide, the building will have to be built on site which is an additional fee. For something smaller, like 6 feet wide, we will charge the same amount as an 8′ wide for the waste of materials being cut off.

If you are interested in a quote for a size you cannot find on our 3D designer, visit our Find a Dealer page and contact your local dealer to get a quote!

Where can I find pricing?

The quickest ways to get pricing are to visit our 3D Designer or to call in to our office at (360) 755-3836 and ask to speak to the representative for your county.

You can also fill out the form at the bottom of the page with a request for pricing and someone will reach out to you within 24 business hours.

How does the shed get delivered?

We deliver our sheds on trucks and trailers that are driven in as close to the delivery site as possible. Then, if necessary, the driver will unload the shed and put it onto wheels and pick it up with a machine that will wheel the building to the exact location and placement the customer wants.

For delivery, ensure there is at least 1′ of room on either side of your building to get to the location you want it, so if you purchase a 12′ wide building, you will want a minimum of 14′ of clearance. Also keep in mind things such as low hanging wires, branches, bushes in the way, septic systems, eaves of the house, etc. Making sure the building can get into your backyard is essential for delivery and should be figured out before the driver is at your location expecting to deliver the shed.

What if I can't pay for the building right away?

Not a problem!

Purchase Outright orders require 40% minimum deposit with balance due upon delivery. Rent to Own requires first month’s rent + applicable delivery fees for your deposit and your next monthly payments do not start until the building is delivered. RTO (Rent to Own) can also be utilized as 90 days same as cash.

Where are you located?

Heritage Portable Buildings is located in Washington state. All of our sheds are built locally at our shop in Burlington, with display and sales locations across the state. If you are uncertain whether or not you are in our service area, please contact us!

How do I prep the ground for delivery?

A level compacted gravel pad is the ideal foundation for your building. You can also have your building set or built on a concrete pad or placed on pavers. All of our buildings are built on 4×6 pressure-treated skids which keep the floor of the building off of the ground. However, to prevent sitting water from ruining your building’s integrity and to increase longevity and quality of life, it is key to ensure the place where you are going to place the building is solid, level and allows drainage away from the structure.

What is Rent to Own?

Rent to Own is an agreed-upon rental contract to pay a set monthly fee that splits part of its payment towards rent and the other part to purchasing the building. You can decide to pay off the contract within 90 days of the building being delivered and all money paid goes to the cost of the building with no additional fees or hidden charges.

It’s also an option for those uncertain if they want a building long-term: just call to have it removed and we will come pick it up with no penalties.

RTO does come with restrictions: the customer may not alter the building, live in it, hold livestock in it, or have an RTO contract on a site build.

RTO comes in terms of 24-, 36-, 48-, and 60-month agreements. Which one you choose is up to your personal needs.

Do I have to talk to a salesperson?

A salesperson can give you the experience just checking out online can’t. Our salespeople know how to guide in choosing the right size, options, and can even come out to your site for a free site check to ensure delivery will go smoothly. When it comes to a significant investment like a portable building, you deserve complete confidence in your decision. Can you build on-site?

We can! On-site builds cost an additional fee for the extra manpower, time and work that goes into the build. Site builds are a popular choice with many of our customers for the freedom in size and customizations they offer. It is also a great choice for when your backyard does not accommodate for regular delivery.

Site builds do not come caulked or painted and this is something to keep in mind when deciding if an on-site build is right for you. For more questions regarding site visits, ask your local dealer.

Do you sell used buildings?

The freedom in our Rent-to-Own contract is that buildings can be returned to us without penalty and occasionally customers take advantage of that! This means we may have some pre-owned buildings that we can sell at a discount.

Find your local dealer and ask today at the Find a Dealer page.

What is my building's warranty?

All Heritage Portable Buildings come with a 7-year craftsmanship warranty, 50-year manufacturer warranty on siding & trim, and a limited lifetime warranty on our standard shingle roofing.
